Aerospace engineering is common being known as the branch of engineering behind the design, construction and science of aircraft and spacecraft. It is broken into two major and overlapping branches, which are aeronautical engineering and astronautical engineering. The former deals with craft that stay within Earth’s atmosphere, and the latter deals with craft that operate outside of Earth’s atmosphere. While aeronautical engineering was the original term, the broader “aerospace” has superseded it in usage, as flight technology advanced to include craft operating in outer space. Aerospace engineering, particularly the astronautics branch, is often informally called rocket science. Note: Aerospace/Aeronautical Engineering is not similar to aircraft maintainance engineering. reference
Below is a list of universities where you can study aerospace/aeronautical engineering in Malaysia.

Universiti Teknologi Malaysia (UTM)
Faculty of Mechanical Engineering, UTM Skudai Johor
The Aeronautical Engineering course was first offered by UTM during the 1980/81 session and was jointly run by UTM and TUDM. Its objective was to fulfill the need for skilled and semi-skilled human resources in the aeronautical field especially in the public sector. TUDM required human resources to operate, maintain, repair, oversee and manage different types of aircraft and UTM had the capability to produce graduates in this field. This need has continued to increase with the development in the airline industry in Malaysia which demands for more trained manpower especially engineers and technical assistants. The Aeronautical Engineering course in UTM is offered as a specialisation of Mechanical Engineering and covers five main areas namely Aerodynamics, Aircraft Structure, Flight Dynamics and Control, Propulsion and Aircraft Design. extracted from: www.utm.my

Hi. I am a SPM ’10 candidate and I am very interested to further my study in this field. Well, to be exact, I wanna involve in Aeronautical Engineering. So, I am searching for anybody who was taking this course coz I wanna ask some questions.
*Pardon my broken English. Kita ni 1Malaysia wehh [=ok]
Here’s my email – [email protected]
Thanks a lot!
hi.
aerospace career is wide and five universities listed above have their own programme that supports their own specific aeronautical and aerospace engineering career. before you dive deeper into the engineering site, here i show you some of aerospace career here in malaysia
some of them are:
– aeronautical design engineering
– aircraft maintenance engineering
– pilot/ cabin crew
– Air traffic controller
– Technical service
depend on your best in what subject right now and your interest
Hi Mr.Z and thanks a lot!
Btw, can I just apply for pilot after taking this course? Or do I have to attend those flying school first?
And does Biology matter in this field? I’ve asked someone about the subjects I needed to score, then she told me to get an A in Biology. I thought she was joking/taking about diff. course, but then she said it was true. Is it? Biology??
Thanks anyway.
